APPROVAL BOUNDARY

What can be approved from a sample made with substitute yarn?

Mark every approval item as provisional or final before the sample is made.

Direct answer

A substitute-yarn sample may help review silhouette, construction and selected workmanship details. It should not automatically approve final hand feel, weight, drape, color, washing response or material performance.

May support provisional review

  • Overall silhouette
  • Construction method
  • Placement and proportion
  • Selected workmanship details

Keep open for the target yarn

  • Final touch and weight
  • Drape and recovery
  • Color and surface
  • Wash response and dimensions
  • Material performance

If material and construction questions are mixed into one approval, later changes become hard to interpret. Give each sample a defined approval job before deciding how many rounds are needed.

Before accepting a substitute route, return to the material and product inputs. If the alternative changes yarn purchasing, colors, or setup, recheck the binding MOQ constraint.
