It was an era filled with opportunity and hard work. That year, we were nothing more than a humble family workshop. No automated production lines, no large management team — just a few old-fashioned flat knitting machines and a family's simple dedication to making a good sweater. Our workshop was filled with the scent of yarn and the hum of machines. We survived fierce market competition through neighborhood reputation and strict control over every step of the process.
The journey from family workshop to corporate operations was not merely about physical expansion — it was a transformation in management thinking and quality standards. As orders grew and customer demands rose, we realized that experience and intuition alone could no longer meet market needs. We officially registered Shanghai LuMiao, completing a remarkable transformation from contract manufacturing to brand trading.
Today, looking back from this new starting point, what makes us most proud is not the expansion of our facilities, but that we have successfully brought the LuMiao Standard to the international stage.
We have established deep trust-based relationships with long-term partners in North America and South Korea. This was no easy feat. The North American market demands near-exacting testing standards for color fastness and shrinkage rates, while the Korean market has extremely high aesthetic expectations for pattern design and yarn hand-feel. Facing these challenges, Shanghai LuMiao chose to rise to the occasion — reorganizing our supply chain with an international perspective, benchmarking every step against international standards from yarn sourcing to garment finishing.
